is making its debut on Monday, September 22, 2014

FROM 9.00 TO 10.00 AND 10.30 TO 11.30 AT THE ZINC BAR 82 WEST 3RD STREET.

WE WILL BE PLAYING ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS BY AKUA DIXON-TURRE, WARREN SMITH, ELEKTRA KURTIS AND SONELIUS SMITH.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE IT WOULD BE GREAT!

The goal of
The New York Jazz Philharmonic

is to create an outlet for musicians and composers
to express their creativity on a larger scale
than the traditional jazz band or orchestra,

and to compose and perform more extended compositions, by incorporating
various instruments of the symphony orchestra
such as the string section, woodwind section—oboe, bassoon, bass, clarinet, etc., as well as
tympani and miscellaneous percussion:
marimba, xylophone, harp and vibraphone.

Although compositions and performance will be
the main objective,
there will be an educational component which reaches out into the communities, promoting music instruction (on all instruments) in the schools, colleges, senior centers, community centers,
concert halls and churches.

Sonelius Smith and Elektra Kurtis.
